Print

With Guns 'n Roses back on the airwaves and Aussies rock icons AC/DC re-claiming their territory, there is little doubt rock 'n roll is back with a fiery vengeance.  And no one brings the beef like Aussies when it comes to livin' large and rockin' hard!  So in the spirit of tight black jeans, mullets and rockin out like there's no tomorrow, MTV are stoked to be introducing it's brand new animated series The Chest Nuts - reckless rock gods next in line for the rock 'n roll crown!  Welcome to the lives of Wiley, Crash, Fletcher, Crackers and their fat manager Droppa who are living the high life in a share mansion in L.A after their debut 'Appetite for Nuts' took the world over by storm. With the music industry as a backdrop for their exploits, everything is fair game, be it saving themselves from terrorists with a deep hatred of pop culture icons, to trawling through a cavalcade of celebrity mansions on the hunt for their missing lead guitarist. Wide-eyed and naive, Hollywood is a world away from anything The Chest Nuts have ever experienced. So strap yourself in with the lice infested power group and live a crazy day in the life of cartoon madmen The Chest Nuts! By watching MTV 4th December 8.55pm for The Chest Nuts premiere.

Below is a quote from Heath Kenny, he is the director for The Gorillaz clips Feel Good Inc. and Dirty Harry, and he’s Creative Director of one of the biggest animation companies in Europe, ‘Alphanim’

“There have been many versions of the "animated band" over the years,
arguably the most well known being the Gorillaz. However recently I
had the fortune to have a straight shot of animated rock and roll.
It was like an animated time machine straight back to my Guns 'n'
Rose's fueled adolescence. The team at MTV Australia and Karactaz
Animation have pulled no punches in there hilarious incarnation of
the rock culture of the late 80's. So its safe to say the Chestnuts
have an avid fan in me. So knock back a couple of bottles of 'night
train', chuck on your old black T shirt, throw ya horns up and laugh
your ass off with “The Chest Nuts" you know you want to.”
